The company was incorporated in 18 March 2010 as a public limited company though operation of PFCML started back in 1996 as the merchant banking division of Prime Finance & Investment Limited to serve individual clients as well as small and large companies with a full range of issue management, underwriting, portfolio management and corporate advisory services etc. Prime Finance & Investment owns 60 percent shares in the company.

PFISL has geographically diversified its operation by providing merchant banking services to stock investors of Rajshahi.
